Indo-Pacific encompasses Indian and Pacific Oceans and their collective littoral nations. The region represents the world’s most consequential economic and military constellations of nations. It accounts for more than half of world GDP, population and trade. United States, China and India host world’s largest militaries.

Indo-Pacific is the epicenter of latent conflicts, compromises and coexistence among Great Powers. It is the first among world regions to affect global security, peace and prosperity. Consequently, ensuring that the region remains free and open constitutes a primary responsibility of all free democratic nations. American prosperity and security depends on a free and open Indo-Pacific.

Approach

Institutional progress stems from the ballast of converging national interests buttressed by an architecture of trusted partnerships. FOIP Foundation endeavors to play a catalytic role in this transformation across the Indo-Pacific region and free and open spaces beyond.

Inspired by the late Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe’s articulation of the Indo-Pacific as the confluence of the two seas forming an arc of freedom and prosperity the FOIP Foundation emerged as a platform for pragmatic actions to strengthen regional cooperation.

The Foundation functions through convening executive salons bringing together policy makers, industry leaders, strategists and thought leaders for candid, constructive and convivial conversations in developing actionable initiatives.

The Foundation’s focus extends beyond deliberations towards catalyzing strategic partnerships, advancing collaborative projects and fostering a network of motivated leaders sharing a resolute commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific.

The Foundation also facilitates expansion of free and open spaces across the world’s critical commercial thoroughfares. A network of free and open spaces best represents a connected world with resilient and secure supply lines.
